Programs

We are proud of the many academic programs that benefit our students here at St. Bartholomew Catholic Academy. In addition to our core curriculum, all students also have classes in Art, STEM, Computer and Physical Education.

St. Bartholomew Catholic Academy is a Middle States Accredited School. 80% of our students perform well  on the New York State Standardized Tests. There are also programs in ESL and Title 1 for the benefit of our students.

At St. Bartholomew Catholic Academy, we explore and express our Catholic identity in many ways throughout the liturgical year. Some of our spiritual activities include weekly Mass, Sacrament Preparation, Seasonal Prayer Services and Encounter Nights.

At St. Bartholomew Catholic Academy, our activities are not confined to studies within our school building. Our students enjoy class trips to many shows and attractions throughout New York City. Many of our students participate in our band program, and our entire school community enjoys their twice yearly concerts.

The SBCA Robotics Program is a multi-awarded robotics team where members learn how to build and program robots using principles in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. They go out to the community and join robotics competitions. The SBCA Sharp Blades compete in the FIRST Lego League (FLL) Queens Qualifiers Robotics Competition.

Afterschool is available for a fee every school day unless otherwise indicated. The program’s hours are 3-6 P.M. Children are provided with homework assistance, tutoring services and the opportunity to socialize with peers while engaging in play activities. All children must be picked up by 6 P.M. or a sliding-scale late fee will be imposed.

Any child not picked up by 3:15 and parent has not communicated with the school will automatically be sent to Afterschool and charged the daily fee.
